Ever fancy a sweet treat but looking to avoid the sugar rush that generally comes with it?! Then look no further. All you need are a few ingredients and a blender and voila, you have an unusual but seriously tasty chocolate mousse that will keep you sated.
This chocolate avocado mousse is creamy and melts in your mouth and the dates add a lovely sweet caramel touch to the flavour. This dessert is packed with goodness as the avocados provide lots of good fats and vitamins and the bee pollen contains an abundance of amino acids and of course, it there is no added sugar. So you can eat away guilt free!
2 ripe avocados
3-4 teaspoons of 100% organic cocoa
6-8 medjool dates
1 cup of coconut milk (the kind that is an alternative to cow’s milk)
2 drops of almond essence (optional)
sprinkle of chia seeds (optional)
sprinkle of bee pollen
Firstly chop up the avocado and the dates. Then add all the ingredients minus the bee pollen into a food processor or blender. If you would like your mousse to be thinner add more coconut milk. The almond essence and chia seeds are optional. Blend till the mixture is smooth and mousse like. Once you are happy with the taste and consistency scoop the dessert into little ramekins top with a sprinkle of bee pollen, cover and chill in the fridge for 10mins.
